Lacking motivation to get to the gym recently? You are not alone. Everyone goes through phases of low drive. Try these top tips to help you get your mojo back.

01

Start a new plan, set a new goal or both

Sometimes things need switching up to get you back excited again. A new programme or a specific target gives you a reason to show up. Without direction, training quickly starts to feel pointless.

02

Get some new gym wear

It does not need to be expensive. Just something you feel good in. It sounds simple but putting on kit you feel confident in genuinely makes a difference to how motivated you feel before a session.

03

Find a new gym buddy

Training with someone else means you can share what you are both doing, hold each other accountable and have a chat while you train. It is much harder to skip a session when someone else is counting on you.

04

Set a new routine for yourself

Maybe try an early morning class or train on a Saturday for a change. Use new equipment like the sled. Mix up your exercises. Sometimes the lack of motivation is really just boredom in disguise and a different stimulus is all you need. Need help choosing new exercises? Just ask us.

05

Take new measurements or progress photos

If you are focused on body composition, having a current baseline can be a real kickstart. Seeing where you are now can either motivate you because you can already see progress, or give you a clear target to work towards.

06

Have small, achievable targets and celebrate each win

Big goals can feel overwhelming. Break them down. Every extra kilo on the bar, every class you attend, every extra glass of water counts. Acknowledge the small wins and they will add up to something significant.

07

Focus on the big picture

Remember it is your long-term health you are taking care of. Try to focus on how you want to feel in six months rather than whether you feel like training today. The sessions you do not feel like doing are often the most valuable ones.
