As you are probably aware our pencilled in date to open was quashed this week when Boris announced that gyms would still not have a date to reopen. The culture secretary who oversees the leisure industry has mentioned on Twitter that our industry, amongst the remaining few others has not been forgotten and its likely to be mid July that we can get going again, once guidelines and regulations have been set. This is what they still haven’t decided upon. I am quite confident in this and I do believe the government won’t expect businesses to survive much longer without giving them the chance to reopen.
Much of our gym equipment has arrived and it fits in perfectly. If you didn’t know we now have additional machines…
Standing calf raise
Lying leg curl
Assisted pullup/dip machine
Flat chest press
Nautlius glute drive
To fit these machines in we have confirmed a mezzanine that will give an additional floor (connecting to the existing mezzanine) where group sessions will be held.
Group training will be taken up a notch with our collaboration with AccuroFIT. This company provide heart rate tracking software that we can display on a screen in the class area allowing you to work for efficiently (within HR zones) and get more from your training. It also links seamlessly with our app adding another tile to the homepage.
All members will have access to the app which is currently being branded up for the app store and available in July. The app will at the very least have workouts on there for you to try and is currently only available to class based members to allow them to book classes. If needed, we can use the app to book training slots at the gym.
In terms of our reopening, we are still unsure what we will be required to do. There will be a heavy emphasis on cleaning down equipment, access to more cleaning supplies for you to do this and plenty on hand sanitisation available. In all honesty I feel we are quite a clean gym to start with and with our busy periods still allowing plenty of space at the gym, I can’t see any regulations being hard to implement.
If you know of anyone looking to join a gym when they are allowed to reopen, please get them to visit this page and register their interest. Limited memberships will be available – https://hellofit.co.uk/memberships/.
